Located at the corner of Sherman Avenue and Grove Street in the heart of Evanston, Ridgeville Tavern strives to be the quintessential neighborhood bar welcoming all to enjoy quality tavern fare and top-notch drinks. Our food and drinks are complemented by a warm, inviting, clean atmosphere with genuine friendly service, and a beautiful corner view of downtown Evanston.

Our bar menu has 20 beer taps, many of which are local Evanston breweries such as Temperance Beer Co, Sketchbook Brewing, and Smylie Brothers, four wine taps, and a concise and crafted cocktail list. Large screen TV’s strategically placed allow guests to follow the game, but not take away from quality conversation time with friends and family.

Our food menu is a single page of delicious and accessible fare meant to offer most anyone something they will love. Fan favorites are our Risotto Fritters, a double smashed cheeseburger, Brussels and kale salad, Southwestern-style skirt steak, and a one-of-kind carrot cake. Find the full menu here.

How we got our name? Ridgeville was the original name used to define the area of north Chicago through Evanston. The name Ridgeville first officially appeared in 1850 but was changed in 1853 to Evanston named after one of Northwestern University’s founders, John Evans.

It is this connection to our neighborhood history that we hope will help us remain an enduring and important part of our area’s future. Our goal is to be a safe and fun place where all are welcomed and find comfort in our surroundings, food, drink, and friendships new and old.
